Tokyo Skytree
At 634m the Tokyo Skytree is the tallest in the world. The views are breathtaking with the Olympic venues all detailed at the top for you to spot. Day off today lunch at the tower, couple of hours lying in the sunshine then came home through Shibuya Crossing love this photo where 3,000 people cross at any one time.

What a day
Never been to a tennis match before so was impressed with the quality of play on Centre Court. We had a date with the womens football so had to leave the Djokavik v Zverev match massive upset but well done Zverev. The ladies quarter final in the Yokohama Stadium could have gone either way. What a stadium easily the biggest stadium l have ever been in hosting the 2002 World Cup Final and the 2019 Rugby World Cup Final. Came down to a penalty shoot out great penalties from the

Olympic Flame relocated
After discussing with cameraman Brett that l would love a plate of cornflakes for breakfast he duly delivered when he presented 2 full cups, they are in his hotel but not ours. They were the real deal quality cornflakes, milk and a cup of orange juice. Thanks Brett. Quiet day today got laundry done then walked 500m to the new location of the Olympic flame, our hotel is to the left of the new flame location.

Best Building in Tokyo
I’ve seen some incredible buildings in Japan but this is my favourite. The Prada shop all glass what a belter just round the corner from the Olympic Stadium. The crew were interview and filming on the Olympic track. They love robots in Japan this one is operated by the person whose face you can see they talk and move around the arena like a security guard. Hot work today so found a milk shake shop to cool down.

Olympic Stadium
Run out to the stadium, battling through the storm that hit 2 hours north, to arrange a shoot for tomorrow. The size and complexity of the stadium is incredible. However technology failed them on the opening ceremony night when 500 of the 1800 drones failed to operate the world globe was to be followed by Imagine and the lyrics of the John Lennon hit it worked a hundred times in practice but not on the night. We’ve all been there. So much work goes on behind the scenes the 10

Golden Monday
At the Tokyo Aquatics Centre today incredible to see Tom Daley and Marty Lee win Gold on the same day as Adam Peaty. You might recognise the driver in the clip ….. https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/sports/tokyo-summer-olympics/gus-kenworthy-gets-a-driving-tour-of-tokyo/2563287/

Hot, Hot, Hot
Not surprised a competitor in the archery collapsed in the heat yesterday. They are out cooling the tarmac with water and the cooling mists are in full flow. Shift changeover on the buses think we should start this on the public bus service back home respect from one driver to the other ……

Saturday
Great to see the Games get underway and the locals coming out to support the cyclists on another hot and humid day.
Quiet day today so got the car washed. Good to see Andy Murray win his doubles tie against the second seeds. The amazing Ariake Tennis Park is 200yds from our hotel which overlooks No1 court (we are the hotel on the left). Police motorcyclists look spaceage and found the best shop in Tokyo ….. curry

Good luck Tokyo
My heart goes out to the Japanese especially the thousands of young volunteers who are so enthusiastic and excited to be part of The Olympics they deserve to have a successful games even though the majority of venues will have no spectators. Day at Chigasaki beach normally you would see Mount Fuji but too cloudy today. Fisherman on the beach do they ever catch anything?

Thomas Bach
Big security today as the Olympic President was in the building. Crew were out filming on the water today Rainbow Bridge in the background. Couple of funny posters that l saw today. Day off tomorrow shopping first for a beach towel, free train travel, visit to Chigasaki beach which lies in the shadow of Mount Fuji. Three birds with one stone …..
