Rodney is a supporter of the Teen Challenge charity which works internationally to support young people with life controlling addictions. This charity is connected through various churches, he has been a member of his local church for more than 40 years. He has been involved and supports various charities like Teen Challenge Strathclyde, Cancer Research UK, MacMillan Cancer Support and BBC Children in Need events. This has included running the 2000 Glasgow and 2005 New York Marathons.
